SESSION 4: DIGITAL SKILLS FOR THE FUTURE: BUILDING CAPACITY IN EDUCATION AND RESEARCH

Moving toward a digital future for the Nigerian Research and Education Community requires that our researchers, academics and students are equipped with the relevant skills to become more ‘digital natives’ in their approach to teaching, learning and research. To achieve this, a significant investment is also required in the infrastructure used for digital teaching and learning including online interactive learning and the use of video-driven content like video capture for lectures.

This session will explore the tools and solutions that have been developed for the REN community through the African Digital Campus (ADC) project and look at the collaborations that will be necessary to deploy and sustain a robust cloud-based digital learning solution that can be offered via REN providers and embraced by our tertiary education institutions as a starting point.

OBJECTIVES: Establish a working group of stakeholders.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES: Nominated institutions for a Nigerian digital campus pilot  project
