Dr. Fatimah Jibril Abduldayan

Dr. Fatimah Jibril Abduldayan is a leading advocate for open science and research data management (RDM) in Nigeria. As the Team Lead for LIBSENSE Nigeria, she champions open science practices and drives capacity-building efforts across academic institutions nationwide.

Dr. Abduldayan actively participates in national and regional initiatives aimed at promoting open science. She has played a pivotal role in establishing a shared repository metadata schema, crafting open access policies for several Nigerian institutions, and organizing workshops for librarians, university leaders, editors, and postgraduate students. Her efforts are instrumental in bridging knowledge gaps and fostering sustainable open science practices.

Through her role as the Trade Manager of the FUTMinna Academic Publishing Centre and her collaboration with WACREN (West and Central African Research and Education Network), Datasphir, and funding from the Open Book Collective, Dr. Abduldayan has been a catalyst in building a community of practice for open science, and her efforts continue to shape the landscape of open publishing in Nigeria, ensuring that research outputs are more accessible, ethical, and impactful both locally and globally.

Dr Abduldayan is the current Head of Department, Library and information Science, FUT Minna, Niger State Nigeria.
